John Egbert x Reader - Different Night

Smiling [derpily] happily, John watched Con Air. It was just when Nicholas Cage was reuniting with his loving wife and daughter. One of the best parts!

[Name] sighed a bit, not really liking the movie. Who could blame her? The movie was pretty bad, and the fact that she had a Nicholas Cage fan that would squeal a little whenever something happened right next to her didn’t help. Sure, she was okay with sitting through the movie, she didn’t really care about that, it was that John looked like he had a massive crush on Nicholas Cage. He nearly started making out with the TV when [Name] had been making popcorn. It was crazy.

[Name] felt somewhat jealous because of this, too. Even though she and John had been dating for a few months and had been friends for years, she didn’t understand his infatuation with the actor. It really pissed her off when John would go on and on about the different roles, movies, and other actors/actresses. She knew he didn’t mean to get her upset, but it just ended up happening. The two would be finishing up a movie marathon with a bunch of bad movies, and while John was confused about the sudden mood change, [Name] would leave to go home. Today might just be the same thing.

“Well that was another great marathon! See ya tomorrow, John!” [Name] said, getting up and quickly trying to walk to the front door.

“Oh! Wait a sec, [Name]!” Quickly tossing the remote to the side, John walked over to his girlfriend.

“Yeah?” [Name] asked, turning around. She was immediately met with the feeling of soft lips on her’s. The little derp she liked was kissing her. Not Nicholas Cage or Liv Tyler’s posters.

Blushing softly, [Name] kissed back gently. After just a few more seconds, which felt like forever to the young couple, they pulled away. John smiled, and so did [Name]. Then they both laughed, it was an airy laugh, one that was usually heard after one made a cute joke or to laugh at an awkward atmosphere. It was perfect.

“Hey [Name]?” John said after he finished laughing. The usually carefree and happy boy now looked shy and unsure of himself.

“Y-Yeah, John?” [Name] asked, smiling reassuringly.

“I love you. . . More than Liv Tyler. . “

“Oh John. . . . I love you, too!”



That night was one of the best. It just wasn't like the others!
